The Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive, unveiled by the European Commission (EC) on February 2022, is going to affect the whole EU business environment by introducing rules on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) standards on the whole supply chains of operators.
The EU institutions are already working on how to amend the initial proposal of the Commission, and the legislative procedure within the European Parliament (EP) is expected to start at the beginning of the upcoming year.
While those processes are moving on, EFFA stated in this Position Paper its views and recommendations over this proposal: the flavour industry is within the scope of the legislative initiative, as the industry is also classified as ‘high risk sector’.
