The EFFA Communications Committee marked its tenth anniversary with a dedicated workshop meeting on the 8th of April, bringing together all its members from both National Associations and company members, to take stock of a decade of work and to set priorities for the years ahead.
Established ten years ago with a clear mission — to give the European flavour industry a stronger, more coherent voice — the Committee has since steered a wide range of initiatives on behalf of EFFA members. These include the European FlavourDay, the Flavour Ambassadors programme, member communications tools and resources, videos and podcasts, social media campaigns, and communications support to EFFA's policy and regulatory work. Much of this material is available to members via the EFFA Member Network and is designed to be adapted for use at national level.
The anniversary meeting took the form of a working session rather than a formal celebration: a review of what has been delivered, an honest look at what can be improved, and a forward-looking discussion on the communications priorities of the flavour industry — from public understanding of flavourings, to sustainability narratives, to engagement with EU institutions and stakeholders in the wider food chain.
The Committee was also pleased to welcome several new members at this meeting, strengthening its geographic representation and bringing fresh perspectives to the table. Its work continues to rely on the active involvement of national associations and member companies, and new contributions are always welcome.
We would like to thank all those who have served on the Committee over the past decade, and all EFFA members whose support makes its work possible. We look forward to the next ten years with the same sense of collective ownership that has defined this Committee from the start.
