EFFA Elects 2025–2027 Leadership in Warsaw, Poland

The European Flavour Association (EFFA) has elected a new Board for the 2025–2027 term during its 17th General Assembly, held this year in Warsaw on Thursday, 25th of September 2025.

Warsaw, 25 September 2025

The European Flavour Association (EFFA) has elected a new Board for the 2025–2027 term during its 17th General Assembly, held this year in Warsaw on Thursday, 25th of September 2025. Doruk Ongan, previously Vice President, will serve as President.

Mr Ongan thanked the General Assembly and EFFA membership for their trust, and his predecessor, Karel Stoschek, for his work and legacy: “I look forward to continuing working with Karel, as Past President, and with Mr Walter Ribero as newly elected Vice President to represent the interests of the European flavour industry”.

The Assembly brought together representatives from national associations and companies across Europe to review the past year and define priorities for the next. It was also a moment to connect and exchange among peers in the flavour industry.

This year’s meeting was especially significant, as EFFA assisted in creating a new association: PZPA, the Polish Association of the Flavour Industry. With this addition, EFFA further strengthens its representation across Europe and underlines its commitment to supporting the flavour industry at both national and European levels. EFFA extends its sincere thanks to the volunteers and colleagues who made this enlargement possible.

A stronger and broader EFFA

The inclusion of PZPA marks an important step in EFFA’s journey. “EFFA’s strength lies in its members. With PZPA joining, our family grows stronger, more diverse, and even better equipped to shape the future of our industry,” said Mr Ongan.

Welcoming a new board

During the General Assembly, members elected a new Board for the 2025–2027 mandate. The newly appointed team will guide EFFA in its strategic priorities and represent the collective voice of the European flavour industry.

The new Board reflects a wider range of perspectives, with UKFA (United Kingdom) and AEFFA (Spain) joining for the first time. Both members bring experience from small and medium-sized enterprises.

“The new Board is a step forward in how we represent our industry—pragmatic, diverse in experience, and rooted in the day-to-day realities of our members,” highlighted Mr Ongan.

EFFA also took this opportunity to warmly thank Massimo Barbeni (AISPEC), who is retiring from the Board after years of committed service. His dedication and contributions have helped strengthen the association and its mission.

Looking ahead

With an expanded membership and a new Board in place, EFFA is ready to take the next steps in supporting the flavour industry across Europe. The association looks forward to continuing its close collaboration with members, institutions, and partners to ensure a strong and sustainable future for flavours.
